Important information about the switch to LavaShell porcelain shells

Due to supply bottlenecks for natural LavaShell shells, we are temporarily switching completely to our LavaShell porcelain shells. In the early days of LavaShell massage, the concept was to reuse the empty shells as a sustainable waste product after consumption. These shells were turned into an extraordinary massage tool that quickly became popular worldwide.
However, with the growing popularity of shell massage over the last 15 years, the ‘waste shells’ were no longer sufficient. Today, shells are farmed, which unfortunately has a negative impact on the environment and sensitive ecosystems. In addition, many natural shell beds have been severely damaged by storms, heat waves or algal blooms and take a very long time to regenerate.

Our porcelain shells look very similar to natural shells, but offer many advantages: they are vegan, consist of a single piece with no glued joints and have a smooth, groove-free surface – making them particularly hygienic and durable.

With the porcelain version, we are supporting the protection of shell beds and focusing on a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative. Many of our customers confirm that they feel no difference in terms of well-being – only the good feeling of making a conscious and sustainable choice with the porcelain shell.
